The Altar Crucifix: A Sacred Memorial
In every Catholic Church, a Crucifix is placed on the Altar as a powerful and visible reminder that every celebration of the Holy Mass is the re-presentation of Christ’s one sacrifice on Calvary. It keeps before our eyes the mystery of our redemption: Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, who offers Himself for us anew at every Mass.
We are pleased to share that our new Altar Crucifix was generously donated by dear the friends of Russell Stephen Salerno, in loving memory of his first anniversary in heaven.
May this sacred image, carved by an artisan in Valgardena wood in Northern Italy, draw all hearts closer to the Lord, and may Russell rest in God’s eternal peace.
